Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc with shrimp and grits …
Quiet evening at home … watching the binge worthy Harry Wild series on Netflix … Linda prepared an imaginative shrimp and grits stew with roasted peppers, tomatoes and corn …. expanding and extending her delicious entree from Entourage DG. I pulled this not so simple, highly acclaimed, enjoyable sipper for wine accompaniment … which proved to be a great pairing with the full flavored dish.
Great value in this crisp nice sipping white, especially as we watch some of our favorite Napa Sauvignon Blanc labels approach and rocket through the $30 price point. Is there a “Napa tax”? Seems like yesterday we paid this amount for Cliff Lede Sauv Blanc and its now 55% more.
This is from Marlborough, South Island, New Zeland. It’s pronounced Gray-wacky … gotta love the whimsical sense of humor of those ‘down under’, if you can count the NZ’ers in that mix.
